Five Hanford workers declined precautionary medical evaluation after reporting odors this afternoon inside of the 702-AZ exhauster building. None of the workers reported symptoms. The employees were performing inspections of the emergency lighting system at the time of reported odors and were not in an area that requires use of a supplied-air respirator. Workers were instructed to leave the area, and access to the area has been restricted. Industrial hygiene technicians will collect a bag sample in the area and perform monitoring with direct-read instruments. The samples will be analyzed for potential hazards and a decision will be made on next steps based on those results.
