Wirelessly Integrated Meteorological Stations

Multiple local meteorological stations were deployed in the pilot-scale demonstration. The meteorological stations determine the local wind speeds, temperatures, humidity, etc., as an input to the plume modeling software to determine potential sources of plumes detected by the monitoring instruments.

CEMET Primary Meteorological Station

The primary meteorological station (MET), developed by Coastal Environmental, is an array of instruments including an anemometer, rain gauge, two temperature and humidity sensors, a solar radiation sensor, and a barometer feeding into a data-logger which then can transmit the data wirelessly. The system is mounted on a 10-meter tall tower that is permanently affixed to a concrete base. The unit was placed in the south end of AP Farm for accurate weather readings. This data was transmitted to the VMD data collection/management system in order to correlate instrument readings with real-time weather data.
