WRPS received this letter from the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) with a list of demands and recommendations from union leadership seeking changes to specific work conditions at the tank farms. We value our partnership with HAMTC and the input they offer on how to best minimize the risks as we clean up the hazards of the legacy waste from World War II and the Cold War stored in Hanford’s 177 underground tanks. As WRPS evaluates the demands, we will work with the union and the Department of Energy to determine a path forward to safely and efficiently continue our important mission.
