All five Hanford employees taken for precautionary medical evaluation after reporting odors today outside of A Farm have been released to return to work.

Eight workers reported odors this morning while performing setup at the 285-A facility, a water and air service building near Hanford’s A tank farm. Three experienced symptoms and went to HPMC for medical evaluation. Two other workers, who did not report symptoms, went to HPMC this afternoon for precautionary medical evaluation.

Workers were not in an area that required use of a supplied-air respirator when odors were reported. They were instructed to leave the area, and access to the area was restricted.

Air samples taken in the area are at or below background levels. Access to the facility and surrounding area has been restored.
