How Do

We Respond?

Workers who detect unidentified or unexpected odors—and potentially related symptoms—should report them. When this occurs, the TFC-OPS-OPER-C-67 procedure is initiated.

Chemicals are routinely monitored in the tank farms. When a Personal Ammonia Monitor alarm occurs, the TF-AOP-015 procedure is initiated.

In case of a report, Washington River Protection Solutions follows strict procedures. The affected area is evacuated and employees are moved upwind. Other workers in adjacent areas are notified. Access to the area is restricted. Industrial hygiene technicians monitor for chemical changes in the farm. Employees who exhibit symptoms receive an evaluation from the onsite medical provider. Medical evaluation is also offered to employees working in the area who don’t have symptoms.
